How to be Jealous

This is completely anecdotal.

Jealously is a taboo thing to write about because it comes off concealed that anyone would want anything that you have. However, as an adult, I realized that adults have a more awkward, subtle relationship with it jealousy than when I was in high school.

I’ve been on both sides. I wanted to write about both of them.

The Taboo -

There’s jealousy… and then there’s envy. The short and sweet answer

System’s based Jealousy: Jealous of someone’s ability or trait that a societal system has given them. Can be something they have that “the system” gave them or a lack of something that you wish you didn’t experience or didn’t have. Think of it as a system’s based privilege.

Natural Jealousy: Natural jealousy usually comes from something the individual got, made, or left intentionally and on their own. The jealousy is based on the effort applied (this can also include a system’s based help, but when you get down to it, the person did something riskier or worked harder than you.)

Jealousy has the underlying fear that because someone else has that thing, they will take something away from you or that you won’t be able to get somewhere very major because they have not.
  2. Pinpoint your “why?” You clearly lack something. Every single person on the planet lacks something. Not a big deal. When I was in middle school (and even today), I had a deep insecurity about my teeth. I had these pointy fang teeth, a deep overbite, and some messed up bottom teeth. The bottom teeth haven’t changed.
    1. Planning. Whatever you lack that got you to the point of inadequacy
